A true Alchemist is a signholder with a personal duty to safely guide interactions between worlds, and in many ways, protect seen and unseen dimensions from each other. They do not need to be human, but they must always have an Immortal soul. Likewise, artificial beings such as singular mechanically-derived intelligences and alchemical prometheans have been documented holding alchemical signs.
