Mothman
Mothman, this guy is a lot of people's favorite cryptid. First sighted in West Virginia in the 60's, he first got popular as an alleged harbinger of disaster an doom after he was reportedly seen at the scene of a fatal bridge collapse. Some think that he might just be a number of different weird owls, but others are sure he's still out there in the Point Pleasant area.

Victor Frankenstein
Victor Frankenstein, Mouse actually wanted to do an intro for this guy:
"You're not a doctor, you gave up on your first project, you abandoned your boy, you put your loved ones in danger for your own benefit, and you tried to marry your sister. dipshit. 'oh she's adopted' Shut up I'm gonna steal your bones"
But yeah Mr. Frankenstein in his original material is less of the fun and wacky mad scientist and more of that guy who can't comprehend the concept of "just because you can doesn't mean you should" and a lot of people died for the sake of his pride. And that's before we get into the fact he reanimated the dead and then refused to take care of his undead creation.
It's probably for the best for his sake that his monster has eclipsed him in popularity, because there's not much good you can say about Victor. He's smart and he decided because of that he didn't need a decent personality or morals. Victor Frankenstein is a charter you point to to go "don't act like this guy he caused all his own problems and took everyone who cared about him down with him".

Ichabod Crane
Ichabod Crane, a man best known for being chased by a ghost. Originating from "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving. It should be noted that in its original publications the story was passed off as an actual folktale presented by the fictitious historian Diedrich Knickerbocker. The story of sleepy hollow is first and foremost Ichabod's story, despite the lasting Impression of the headless horseman, with the story presenting that even if the headless horseman was fake, this Ichabod guy still went missing under weird circumstances, not that Mr.Crane has ever existed outside of the literary realm.
Before mysteriously disappearing after supposedly being chased down by a headless ghost, he was known as the superstitious local school teacher who was involved in a love triangle with a beautiful young heiress who was also being romantically pursued by Brom Bones. Then after supposedly proposing to her and being rejected, he is chased and caught by the headless horseman, and is supposedly never seen again, leaving only his horse and hat. Like the whole story is supposed to be gossip about Crane with a few layers of retelling warping so who knows what happened to him even in the context of his own narrative.

Dorian Gray
Dorian Gray, a charter known for his image. Originating from The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, his story is one of vanity. His thing is that he sold his soul so that a beautiful portrait of himself would age in his place, and after a few decades of him destroying other people's lives for his own amusement, his past catches up to him and he switches back appearances with his portrait, dying as the decrepit old man he was on the inside. As when you live your life making yourself feel better by hurting others, you distort, demonize, and destroy yourself.

Captain Nemo
Captain Nemo, famed captain of the Nautilus in Jules Verne's classic books Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, and The Mysterious Island. He is a Genius known for creating his own submarine, and using it to avoid society and its ills. Aside from his loyal submarine crew, He keeps company of a party of captive shipwreck survivors in a "I can't really let them tell anyone about all this but I don't want to kill them" way though 20,000 Leagues. Despite keeping the narrator and company prisoners through the book, he's not a bad guy and helps out where and when he can. He's far from evil, being an antihero at worst, and mostly just seems concerned in having ocean adventures far away from the rest of the world.
While a mysterious figure in his original outing, they really blow that all out of the water in Mysterious island, where he appears a good bit older than in 20000 Leagues. His role in the story is that of a surprise benefactor to the book's protagonists. He reveals that he just kept trekking with the submarine thing until all his crew died. He also reveals himself on his deathbed (from natural causes) to be a lost Prince Dakkar from Bundelkund. Also I was surprised to learn he was supposed to be Indian based on how he's white in 90% of adaptations. The fact he was a prince was also how he got all his money and education to make his own submarine.
All in all he seems to be a lot less cold then he wants people to think he was. Like for a guy who could wax on and on about humanitys evils, any time he gets a chance to help some one he seems to take the highroad and help them. You are who you are in the dark I supose, and if the deep ocean is anything, its dark.

Don Quixote
Don Quixote, the man from La Mancha. He is a character dictated by obsession and confusion. He attempted to bring chivalry back for better or worse and got into many misadventures doing so. The thing I've observed is there does seem to be a split in how he is interpreted. Whether he is portrayed as bringing others down for the sake of fleeting fancy, or a noble and tragic dreamer chasing a star, or a bit of both, there is something deeply captivating about a man who fancied himself a chivalric knight 500 years too late.

The Wizard Merlin
Merlin the wizard. He comes from the stories of King Arthur and has a well earned reputation as a high standard for wizards in fiction. He is said to be the person who put the sword in the stone, and if not at least the person who told everyone how it worked. Some stories say his powers come from him being half demon, others just think he's like that on his own. Regardless, if you ever need a funny wizard, Merlin is one that already has an esteem of being lightheaded yet all powerful.
