Today is the anniversary of a long running Canadian skit show's network debut. The Red Green show is a parody of masculine-focused home improvement shows and is hosted by Steve Smith, who plays the titular character. Red Green himself is a gruff old handyman who, alongside having his own TV show (the fact the show is broadcasted is diegetic in the series), is the president of the local "Possum Lodge" men's club.
Each episode features a storyline featuring Red and his geeky nephew Harold Green alongside the other lodge members as they rib at each other over whatever misadventure is unfolding at the lodge that day. These story segments are intertwined with a number of recurring segments. The full 15 seasons of the series is on YouTube, So if you want to hear a cynical old man give you his opinions on gender and then watch him duct tape random items to old cars to attempt a trivial utility, this show is a strong recommendation. But I will say, start with season 4, because that's when the show really gets its legs.
