KaTuesday: Dave, Son of Hercules

Background : Dave, Son of Hercules is a one off short done by cartoonist Mark Marek, who did the main wrap around segments for the show. This is a bit of a cop out but I'm going to hold off on discussing his work as a whole until we get to "Henry and June" at the very end instead. The short itself is a spiritual sequel to Marek's earlier series "Hercules: Amongst the North Americans". The biggest difference is tone as the earlier "Hercules" was an adult comic featured in the national lampoon that depicted Hercules as a fish out of water, living in North America in the 1980's. Summary: Hercules has trouble connecting to his son Dave, As Dave just wants a normal life but his dad is a Greek demigod. I will say at certain points it feels unclear if Dave's dad is really Hercules, or just a modern mortal who thinks he is. Rating: C Note: Be careful if you look up Mark Marek online because he coincidently shares his name with the owner of a very "Not Safe For Life" shock website.

I feel like if Hercules could really just be living in New Jersey or something and none of us would know
