Today is the anniversary of the first modern theme park opening operations for the first time in 1946. Santa Claus Land was created in the town of Santa Claus, Indiana. The park was created so that anyone who came to the town looking for the man with all the toys himself would have something to do when they got there. The park is still open today, with some updates.
Now known as "Holiday World & Splashin' Safari", the park has opened up its theme to Independence Day, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. They also put in a safari themed water park, but like, why not make that holiday themed too? Anyway, despite the water park, the main park sticks to the theme for the most part. And yes, you can still see Santa Claus there, and you can even find video of him on one of the park's coasters, and he does hohoho the entire ride. What a magical world we live in.
They should add new years stuff to the park, I can think of a number of cool rides you can theme around new years
