Today is Monkey Day. Monkeys are smaller primates with tails, not to be confused with chimps, that are smaller primates without tails, or lemurs, that are a different type of smaller primates that usually have long tails.
Currently, there are 42 recognized species of money, and some of them are pretty weird. Proboscis monkeys have long, cartoony, oblong noses. Golden lion tamarins have bright, yellow-orange fur. Mandrills are likewise as vibrant, with Primary colors lighting up their faces and bottoms. Last species I'm going to mention today is the Japanese macaque, a species of monkey known for relaxing in natural hot springs, so you can find a lot of pictures of them enjoying group baths.
[EDITOR’S NOTE: Curious George does not count as a monkey, though it’s pedantic to point it out. You can call him a monkey. It’s okay. No, he didn’t have a tail. That might be your mental image, but that’s because you associate him with monkeys. This has been another episode of Mouse Maligns the Mandela Effect.]
