Today is the anniversary of the First episode of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Hosted by Fred Rogers, a man who figured his goal in life was to make quality children's programming, something he definitely excelled at. The show itself, first and foremost, is very warm and conforting. A lot of people have described the show like a virtual trip to a grandparent and I agree completely.
As charming as Fred Rogers was as a host, he was just as captivating with simple yet effective puppetry. One of the most iconic parts of the series is the The Neighborhood of Make-Believe, filled with a number of puppets, a majority of which were performed by Rogers, and a population of human characters. Adorably, these segments were booked by an appearance from a miniature trolley that passed through both The Neighborhood of Make-Believe and Mr. Rogers’ house. This is another series I try to catch if it's on, because a little time to relax and reflect is good for everyone.
