Today the first episode of a remarkable toy based CGI kids cartoon aired in 2011. Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu is an animated series based off the Ninjago line of LEGO Sets. The series is about four (later five, I think maybe six really later on) LEGO ninjas fighting evil. To be honest I watched the first two seasons when they aired, and I didn't know the series kept going after that until they hit season five. They are now on season 15. There's no way I'm going to catch up on LEGO Ninjago unless someone already really into it wants me to watch it. [ASSOCIATES NOTE: don't look at me I stopped after season two on purpose. Also Zane is the best character in what I've seen and I'm personally scared to see if they derailed him down the road.]
Personally I'm just in awe that Ninjago is a series still in production. I was in middle school when it started and now I'm an adult man. And aside from a one-off theatrical movie, it's not like they've rebooted the continuity before. Although apparently the current season will be the last of the current season, but it is also not a reboot, so my money is on a substantial art shift. LEGO's other ongoing animated series, Monkie Kid, is traditionally animated and doing well so I'd put money on a non-cgi Ninjago series.
