Today we celebrate the birthday of the guy who invented what I think is the coolest instrument on earth, Nikola Tesla. Before his name was used for unrelated smart cars, Tesla was known to be the closest thing to a real life mad scientist the world has ever seen. Despite all of this, I'm mostly interested in his invention of the tesla coil. The Tesla Coil is a tower with an electric ball on top. It can be extremely dangerous but you can also play music on it. Audibly, the singing Tesla coil sounds like a zappy theremin. The coolest thing is the guys in the electric safety gear harmonizing the coil's shocks and tunes to an electric guitar. It is the coolest thing to watch.
