Today we celebrate an author best known for writing about talking animals in cute little outfits. Beatrix Potter was born on this day in 1866 in London, England. She's best known for her children's books, the most popular of which would have to be "The Tale of Peter Rabbit".
Peter Rabbit was one of my favorite books as a kid (second favorite rabbit story behind The Velveteen Rabbit to be precise). It's a fairly simple yet good story so I'm just going to summarize it here.
There's a little rabbit guy named Peter that wears clothes. His mom tells to stay out of trouble so naturally he goes to the farmers veggie patch and goes ham. He stuffs himself until the farmer notices and gives chase. Peter escapes with his life but not his clothes, which are donated to the local scarecrow.
Two rabbits in a row?
