Today is Graham Crackers Day. Graham Crackers are weird as they were a food invented to taste bad. This is made weirder by the fact they taste quite good, and graham cracker crumbs are a common ingredient in crusts for pies and bases for cheesecakes. And this isn't even mentioning s'mores. Anyway, it's a weird place to be from the background of tasting bad on purpose.
You might be wondering why you would want to have food that tastes bad, but the honest reason is it was for religious reasons. It was a temperance movement thing where a man named Graham suggested a type of bland vegetarian diet to keep you healthy and virtuous. And people made crackers from his preferred coarse grain, and down the line people forgot they weren't supposed to taste good. And now they taste great.
[CONTRIBUTOR’S NOTE: when I was a kid I would dunk graham crackers in milk – great stuff, but you inevitably end up with gooey cracker-pulp in your milk glass. I wasn’t into that, but maybe you are! Try this fun snack sometime :-)]

The only thing that's more bland than Graham Crackers is this article. I mean- Seriously? Graham Crackers? That's what you're gonna write about? You could've chosen anything, ANYTHING! And you still chose the worst type of cracker ever made. I'll have you know— I've had the displeasure of eating more of these things than you've probably had in your entire life. They all suck. The guy who invented them was also a lunatic. (And not in the good way). Why would you even write about this? I know of at least two Independence days being celebrated as we speak. Bikini Day would've been more interesting if you wanna go with unimportant celebrations. Shame on you, young man.
