Today is Pop Goes The Weasel Day, a holiday I'm only reporting on because I'm surprised and confused that it exists. Pop Goes the Weasel is an old English nursery rhyme. Most versions of the song involve a monkey chasing a weasel around a bush or something. Looking into it, I'm surprised how non-standardized this rhyme is.
Also like, why is a monkey chasing a weasel? After checking some animal population maps there are a few places in the world with both animals existing natively, but I don't know how often they would interact in the wild. Like if anything a weasel would probably be chasing a monkey. I'm not even going to try to decipher the popping part of the rhyme, this song is already making my brain shrug.

Big bad webmaster Benndetto can't handle a children's rhyme?
