Today is World Giraffe Day. Giraffes are a great example of real life animals that are really weird if you think about it. A giraffe's neck can often be longer than 7 feet long. Snakes that are 7 feet long are considered quite long for a snake. There is a mammal, with milk and hair and everything, that basically has a very large snake where it's neck should be.
Most fun facts about giraffes are pretty gross, so for a less-than-gross fun fact I'm going to talk about birth. I mean, if you've never seen one, animal birth is universally at least a little messy. First, giraffes are pregnant longer than humans are, having a 15 month pregnancy cycle. Second is that when giraffes are born they just kinda fall out of the womb. Like the mamma giraffe is so high up so the first thing that happens when a giraffe is born is it falls on the ground. Nature is beautiful.
