Today is Pi day. And I'm going to see how much pi I remember off the top of my head up to ten. 3.141592648. I checked and the 3.1415926 was correct, but the next two digits are 53. So I know 8 digits of pi off the top of my head, not bad. Anyway, Pi Day is a holiday dedicated to the ratio a circle's circumference always has to that circle's diameter.
A big appeal to Pi Day in my eyes is the puns. Puns and references to that one ASDF Movie "pie flavored pie" joke. Also, the fact that pie is a round food and pizza pies also being round has given many a grade school math class an excuse to have a treat during class. My homework for you, whatever person is reading this, is to eat something round today if you can. It's what Pi Day is really all about.
Pi is interesting because it's also used a lot for measuring sine waves. A typical graph of sin(x) goes for about 2π long before it starts repeating. Sine waves are, consequently, used a lot in circuits in stuff since AC (alternating current) power is a thing and moves in a sine wave with respect to time.
I took an elevator today that smelled like apple pie a la mode... The spirit of the day is alive and well
