Today is World Theater Day. As I've mentioned before; myself, David and Kevin were the theater crew at our highschool, however I will admit I only joined those two in senior year after they were the only two crew members left. Everyone else graduated, and none of the younger kids wanted to do it. So we put together all the sets for Midsummer Night’s Dream together and we even used a fursuit tutorial to make a donkey head and it sucked but everyone loved it. We changed theater teachers four times that year.
At first we had a really good theater teacher, but then she got pregnant and took some time off for that. But she never came back after maternity leave because her husband got a better job out of state. And then her Maternity leave substitute left too because he wasn't prepared to run the full class. We got a second permanent substitute but she just disappeared one day. I don't know what happened and David says I don't want to know. Then the fourth teacher that year was this old theater actor that screwed up attendance half the time. Big shout out to the band teacher Mr.V for taking over the direction of the school play that year.
That was a crazy year for theatre! I still look back on it really fondly despite how many things went wrong. Still wish I kept that donkey head prop, I want to mount it on my wall...or maybe even wear it and go "ooga booga" at Pim!
