May 24th - Doug Jones' Birthday

Today is the birthday of a very important actor. It's the guy who plays all the best tall, skinny creatures in cinema: the Shape of Water fish man,the Hellboy fish man, both Pan and that guy with eyes on his hands in Pan's Labyrinth, Silver Surfer, the Slenderman, the Bye-Bye Man, and Mac Tonight. Doug Jones is 62 today. There are a few reasons Mr. Jones is as good at what he does as he is. Aside from the fact he's so lanky. The first is that he's skilled as both a mime and a contortionist. Being good with either of those individually would make you really good at playing spooky guys, but they really combo together. The second is that he's apparently very patient, so the makeup specialists can go ham on his appearance without him getting squirmy. I don't have a third point except for I need to remind you this man is 6'4 and that with the previous points are what makes this guy an ace at playing cool movie monsters. And Mac Tonight.
