Monster High Doll Concepts Because Why Not

As you know I write all this stuff ahead of time (unless stated otherwise), and I'm mid October with monsters on the brain. While I don't know too much about the Monster High doll line, I like the idea of fashion dolls based on monsters. I just figured there were five monsters I'd like to see them tackle now that they are making new dolls again, and maybe I can go back and say "Ha!" with my finger pointing out if any of these do end up on Mattel's plate.

1- Champ

Champ is a serpentine monster comparable to the legendary Nessie from Scotland. It resides in Lake Champlain, a lake located between the U.S. states of New York and Vermont and the Canadian province of Quebec. Champ is also the mascot of a Minor League Baseball team.

Another variety of sporty sea monster teen feels like a no-brainer here.

2- Sandworm

Sandworms are giant worms that live in sand. I don't know how they could pull this off but it would be funny to see someone try. Like, do you give em' arms? Legs? A face? How do you anthropomorphize a worm? I'm going to say make them like a worm centaur with an "I used to live in a desert" look.

3- Gremlin

I know about the doll based off the 1984 film, but that monster is a loose interpretation of Chinese mogwai in itself. I'm talking about actual gremlins, which have reportedly been around since the introduction of the Machine Age. A modern variety of fey, these gremlins are said to cause electrical problems that have no other apparent explanation. This species feels like a great choice for a teen hacker character.

4- Kappa

A popular Japanese monster known for lurking in rivers and eating cucumbers. I'm really surprised this one doesn't have a doll yet because I remember seeing kappas in a fair bit of anime, video games and other things influenced by Japanese folklore as a kid, but it feels like nobody talks about them in the U.S. as much. At least kappa are still represented by Kapp’n from Animal Crossing. Regardless, I think a kappa would probably make a good Japanese exchange student.

5- Children of Echidna

From Greek mythology, Echidna is a half-snake woman known for being the mother of many Greek mythological monsters and for spending most of her time alone in a cave. You could literally give her triplets and have them bring three whole different species, either from her existing descendants (a few, such as the gorgon and the hydra, already have descendants in the doll line), or just go for original monsters based on her mythological offspring in spirit.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit I only have passing previous knowledge of La Llorona from a few books on international ghosts I've read over the years, but I imagine an encounter with her would be particularly memorable. She does seem like a fairly plausible point of inspiration for a Monster High Doll to me and I imagine your concept was pretty cool.
