Hello World, it's Calexta.
Today is the anniversary of a video game known for having been recalled over an easter egg. SimCopter is a game in the Maxis "Sim'' series, a collection of games probably best known for spawning the ''SimCity" and ''The Sims" sub-series. In fact, the pseudo-language Simlish popularized in The Sims first appeared in this game.
The removed easter egg would be set off every Friday the 13th, and would feature a bunch of speedo studs hugging and kissing, and you could even leave your helicopter to get some sugar yourself. The thing is, the egg was also more effective than its programmer was expecting, and far more stud NPCs appeared than expected. The secret was put in the game by culture jammer Jacques Servin, who was unsurprisingly fired by Maxis for the orideal. Likewise the egg was removed from the game, and the copies with the egg that were published were recalled.
Servin says he put it in as a prank because he was upset at Maxis for the crunch conditions he was put under working for the company and thought that it was kinda sexist that he was instructed to include hypersexualized female chaterters into the game by his heteronormative bosses. And if he was going to make eye candy he was going to make eye candy that appealed to him as a gay man instead of the "Bimbos" requested guys denying him time off work. Personally I think the the gay himbos were really cartoony and silly and I've seen way, way worse left in games in the same age demographics.
Im not sure if your the same person but I think we used to talk about superheroes together. calexta97. I was zackinami. If you dont remeber me thats ok its been a while. either way I like your website,
