Today in 2012, the DreamWorks film Rise of the Guardians first hit theaters. This was kind of a weird film because I saw a lot of people my age enthralled with the film's depiction of Jack Frost for a few years. Then those teens got too old to be attracted to an unaging teen boy anymore, and I haven't seen anyone talk about the film much sense. If you had a crush on the DreamWorks Jack Frost, I'm calling you out as a guy who had a crush on the Rankin Bass Jack Frost at that age instead.
The other thing I never see anyone mention is the fact that the film is based on a book by William Joyce. You know William Joyce. He's the guy who also gave us the book Meet the Robinsons was based off of, and Rollie Pollie Ollie, and George Shrinks. Does anyone remember George Shrinks? That show had three seasons on PBS kids and it was like, modern day Tom Thumb. Anyway, the Guardians was like a full novel series Joyce did but DreamWorks was expecting the first Guardians film to be a big enough hit to fund other movies and while it did well in the box office, it couldn't break even on advertising and everything so they never did a second one.
