Today is one of the most evil "holidays", Black Friday. Basically this is the day Christmas shopping starts and so big businesses have steep discounts that some people get into physical altercations over. Despite the horrific fact that this holiday has an active death count, its name is said to come from the fact that some businesses would go from the "Red" of not making a profit at the time to the "Black" of making a profit after the sale or just the amount of people involved. There's a lot of conflicting information on this one.
I would just like to say, If you are working retail today or any time this holiday season, my condolences and I sincerely hope you receive appropriate compensation for what you had to endure today and the rest of the holiday cycle. Likewise for anyone working any level of the online shopping logistical process, as that's just as brutal if not moreso. And if you are out shopping today, just remember to maintain common courtesy towards the retail professionals proving your shopping experience and your fellow shoppers.
