Today is the Anniversary of the self-titled debut of the band Calorific Rays. The C-Rays are an indie pop punk band best known for their stage presentation. Claiming to be "real 21st century alchemists" they present themselves as mad scientists who study eldritch monsters. "Ponder Over", "Groovy Mistake", "Outa Oxygen" [ASSOCIATE NOTE: Ow-outa, outa-out-of oxygen. That one's my favorite] and "Buck" are must-listen songs in my book.
The band consists of the flamboyant guitarist Victor Ray (Victor Herschel), his keybodist brother Lazer Ray (Liam Herschel), their bassist lab assistant of no relation, Copernicus "Copper" Ray (Bill Cubert), and their drums robot L0g4n (unknown). I did manage to see them live once, and they put on a great show. Also there are rumors that they are in the studio for their lucky 13th album, but it hasn't been named yet as of this article's publication.
I love the C-Rays. Next time they are in Atlanta you are taking me to see them.
