Today, one of the internet's "favorite" movies first came out. Written and produced by Jerry Seinfeld, from Seinfeld, The Bee Movie is one of the most DreamWorks movies of all time. The movie is definitely a weird one, it's about a bee suing the human race, only to realize that nothing is being pollinated now that the world’s bees have too much honey. And then he saves the day.
As someone who has seen the script be a meme every other year, I want to say I have a problem with how the movie opens. It's just a recall of an urban legend that science says bees can't fly. The "According to all known laws of aviation" thing is complete hogwash. Bees can fly because they flutter their little wings fast enough in just the right direction enough to create lift. It's actually really cool. Anyway, anytime someone says science can't explain something, that's your cue to do your own research. Most of the time it's something a good book or your search engine of choice could easily explain to you.
On the note of scientifically addressing Seinfeld, the deal with airplane food is that the change in pressure messes with you scenes of taste and smell and it has to be prepared with that in mind. Not only is the food a little different, but so is your ability to taste it.
