Hello World, it's StarJaxer

Today is the launch anniversary of a TV channel that had a good run, was replaced by a different channel, and then kinda came back. Discovery Kids.

Discovery Kids was mostly shows that felt educational themed more than anything. You would probably learn something, but you weren't seeing clips from Kenny the Shark in science class. My favorite show on there had to be Growing Up Creepie, because It was basically an edutainment show for kids who already love Invader Zim. That and Tutenstein, a cartoon about an undead child King Tut, are fairly seasonal in terms of children's programming.

Discovery Kids did well enough for long enough that eventually Hasbro wanted in, and with that, Discovery Kids relaunched as a shiny new network that debuted October 10th, 2010. And I'll be back to talk about that on Monday.
