Something New Friday: Some Limericks

There was once a duck by a shore But now this fouls no more The last of its kind The duck lost its mind From the burden of solitude it bore There once was a man by the sea Who barely could count up to three He was good at his work But a bit of a jerk And lived a life of both bliss and ennui There was a deer in the sun Who decided to galop and run What a fine beast was he Wild and free Till the last of his days were all done One day the sun was tossed And the earth, it turned into to frost Man, deer and duck All ran out of luck As all sights of life were lost A stranger in a flying machine Who wanted to know what I mean Deciphered the ice And the mass loss of life That wiped the poor planet clean There was no answer he found For the mass deviation around It sat in his gut His mind in a rut A question that could never be drowned

I love limericks! I remember years ago my music teacher gave us a lesson on the construction of limericks and we were assigned to make our own. I had some great ones, sadly don't remember them.
