Weirdsth at Art Fight: Bwooom

Updated: Aug 5, 2022

WSTH: Please Introduce yourself

Gaby: I'm Gaby, A.K.A. BWOOOM! I'm a mostly self-taught writer and digital artist, with a focus on comics and other original projects, and I'm currently writing the interactive comic EcopportunityX!

WSTH: How are you enjoying Art Fight this year?

Gaby: I've been loving it! Art Fight has always been a way for me to break out of my shell artistically, drawing types of characters I wouldn't often draw or in styles I wouldn't often use, and this year is no different! The attacks I've received are all so awesome, too, it's so exciting seeing my characters drawn in different styles.

I got a little sick partway through, but every year I end up taking a break in the middle of the month for one reason or another, so it's really just part of the cycle for me.

WSTH: What is your favorite part about Art Fight?

Gaby: Hm... I'd say it's hearing back from the people I attack! The comments I get from them are always pretty enthusiastic, it's really cool knowing that I made someone happy with my art.

WSTH: Do you think you will do Art Fight next year?

Gaby: Absolutely! I look forward to it every July, and even if I'm busy, I can always make time for at least a FEW attacks over the span of a whole month.

WSTH: What do you work on creatively next to Art Fight?

Gaby: When Art Fight isn't going on, my main artistic focus is my webcomic EcopportunityX! It's an interactive horror webcomic about helping a little gray kid escape an even grayer facility, and it can be found (Here)

I hope to create many more comics in the future as well! I've got a lot of story ideas rattling around in my head, and I've gotta get 'em out there somehow.

I also do non-comic art, mostly of original characters, and that can be found at (Here) and (Here)

WSTH: Anything else you want to share?

Gaby: For some final words, I'd like to tell any artists who haven't tried Art Fight to give it a shot! It's really just something to do for fun, to prompt yourself to break out of your comfort zone a bit. I personally think it's really helped my artistic development!
