Today, I have a story for you of how inspiration can come from anywhere. Once upon a time, a woman named Paulette Bourgeois wanted to write a children's book but lacked a solid idea. While sitting on it, she decided to watch some M*A*S*H, when something the character Hawkeye said stuck in her head: "Can you imagine me as a turtle? Afraid to get into my own shell?".
She started to think about the idea of a turtle afraid of its own shell and knew it was perfect for that kids book she wanted to write. The next day she began on her book, "Franklin in the Dark". The turtle's name came out of the blue to her, but by subconscious or coincidence, was also Hawkeye's middle name. Franklin in the Dark spawned a series with over 20 books, two television series, and several direct to DVD movies.
